Review │I♡MAKEUP

Beauty, Make-up

I know I’ve recently talked about make-up, but I had to share this with you. It has been a while since I’ve spotted/know this brand, but I never used it before or bought it, although the packaging is really nice. The brand is called I♡MAKEUP and it’s amazing! It is a really affordable brand and it’s of high quality! I have to say, they sell tons of different make-up, but I only tested two of their make-up palettes, which are gorgeous by the way!
The packaging of their palettes look like a chocolate bar, which they have in two different sizes. The ones I bought are called Deathy By Chocolate and Gold Bar. I just liked these the most, but the other onces where gorgeous to. On the backside of the palettes, you can clearly see which colors are inside (that’s why I choose these two).
The big ones only costs €9.99 (although in the shop where I bought them) and they have 16 different colors, all with a name.

I hope you already now by now, that in my opinion, brands or products with a low price don’t always have to be bad or low quality. Believe me when I say, this one is sooooo good and soooo pigmented. The colors are truly amazing!
I tried a few colors and took pictures, but I have to say, I’m so bad in putting on make-up, although I never got bad comments (at least not in my face ;p) and my mother thinks I look pretty, haha. So, the colors arn’t that bright on the pictures as they are in real life, but you just have to trust me on this one.
Like I said, I’m not a pro at make-up and the pictures arn’t that great as well, but still, the colors still look good. Also, I took the pictures on different days and different times, so the light is different and also my skin, so the colors will be to.

1. Death By Chocolate

This palette mostly has darker colors in it, which I kinda like. There are a few nudes, but not that much. Most of them are neutral, some of them have glitters in it.
The colors I used for this look are White Light, which is a very light beige, Fool’s gold, a really glittery gold and All is lost, a black color.
I like to use a light base, that’s why I used White Light. Than I used Fool’s gold in the middle of my eye and the darker color in the corner of my eye. I do this almost every time I do my make-up, because I kinda gives me a more mysterious look. I don’t know how to call it, but it just fits me and it brings out my eyes (which you obviously can’t see that good in this picture).

2. Golden Bar

This is a bit of a darker look and I’m the type that mostly uses dark colors mixed with nudes. I have to say, maybe this one is a bit to dark and a bit messy, but I kinda like it.
Although you don’t really see it that clear on the picture, most of the colors in this palette have glitters in it. I used Chocolatier, which was such a beautiful color, I even didn’t want to put any other colors on, Cocoa, which is a red/brown kinda color and Wrapped, which is dark brown.
Again, I used a light base, than glitters in the middle of my eye of and a darker color in the corner of my eyes.

I just wanna say that I love this brand already soooo much and I immediatly want to try all the other palettes, because there are so many and they are so beautiful. Like you saw, I bought the brown and golden version, but you have two pink versions, a black, an orange, a green, silver,…There are just palettes for every type!
Can’t wait to test the other ones!

Test │Eyebrow make-up

Beauty, Make-up

When I leave the house, and I don’t mean when I walking the dog, I always make sure my eyebrows looks on point . I mean, I do wear make-up, but if I had to choose, I would just do my eyebrows and maybe put on some mascara. In my opinion, if you take care of your eyebrows, you could look completely different. Hence I make sure I do have the right material in house for doing this. It has been a while since I wanted to do something different with my eyebrows and I’m not really satisfied with them (maybe I just use the tweezers to much). I just wanted try someting different.

That’s why I bought some new eyebrow products to test out. I got three and they’re from the brand Essence. Of course, all of them work in a different way.

1. Make me brow eyebrow powder – € 2,59 Essence

I never used eyebrowpowder before, so I’m curious. There arn’t many colors to choose from. When I opened the product, a lot of powder came out and it’s bit of a mess. The brush is very small and flexible, which can be handy, but it’s kinda annoying to. When I apply it to my eyebrow, the brush bends and most of the powder is hanging under my eyebrow instead of on my eyebrow. It kinda requires some practice. The powder stays on one place and spreading it out evenly is not that easy, so I kinda have to apply more. I don’t really like this, because this means I just putting on a thick layer of powder, which makes my eyebrows look a bit darker than they should be. It’s just so messy and difficult. I don’t really think you can apply the powder nicely and certainly not in the typical strokes an eyebrow has. I said it before, I just think i looks messy. I succeeded in the end, but when you look really upclose, it doesn’t look that good. There’s not really a shape, it just looks like I colored my eyebrows, instead of following the natural grow of the eyebrow. Besides that, the color is to dark.

People who have experience with this, would get a nice eyebrow with this powder, but it’s definitely not for me.

2. Superlast eyebrow pomade pencil – € 1,99 Essence

This product is something between a pencil and a tiny marker and it also has a little brush. When I try to apply this, it crumbles and there are  little chunks in my eyebrows. Definitely not a good start. The marker is super thin, so in my opinion it’s harder to apply it, because you have to be really gentle with it. Again, the product is way to dark for me, but I guess I shoulda picked a lighter color. I feel as if, with this product, I’m just coloring my eyebrows instead of making nice strokes. It just doesn’t look natural, I think. It has a messy finish and it’s hard to make something of it. The texture of the product and the fact that it’s crumbling, makes it impossible (for me) to get it done. I don’t know if it’s just me and that I don’t know how to work with this product, but i’m just not a fan.

3. Make me brow – gel mascara- € 2,59 Essence

Again with this product, I didn’t get the result I wanted, but it’s less messy than the other two I tested before. This is more mascara like, but for eyeborows. The difference with the other two products is that, with this gel mascara, it’s easier to follow the shape of your eyebrow, but on the other hand, it doesn’t really fill in the eyebrows. Still, it looks less ‘fake’ or colored in. You create the idea of more eyebrow hairs, but it doesn’t really give you a fuller eyebrow. This also needs a bit of practice. For people who don’t need fuller eyebrows and just want the look of a good shaped eyebrow, this propably would work. It still doesn’t look perfect, but a least the color is lighter, which fits me more.
I think it does look just a little but more natural than the powder and the pencil, but I still don’t know if this is the right product for me.

I’m not really a fan of the powder, because it was so messy and the pencil wasn’t all that either, but maybe this could be the product for you. Both my eyebrows looked  realy dark and it just wasn’t what I wanted it to be. I just think it looked ‘fake’, but that’s my opinion.
The mascara was just a little bit better, because it went easier and there was no mess.
I think everyone has to sort out for themselves which product is best, but for me, all of them weren’t really up my alley.
Normally I use the eyebrow pencil of the brand Catrice, which is the eyebrow stylist 020 for € 2,59.

People who are good at eyebrows would probably say this isn’t that good either or isn’t 100%, but I think it’s ok and that’s what important. I’m not a make-up artist or a pro.
I think I will just keep using my trusty eyebrow pencil for now.
