Today I want to tell you about a shop I already knew about, but never visited yet. Last weekend, I went to Ghent with my sister, which is an amazing city. There are lots of hotspot with nice concepts and unique places and things to see. I have a whole list of amazing shops and one of them is Clouds of Fashion. I assume most people in Belgium already know this shop, but for those who don’t, this shop is run by Laurentine van Landeghem, who made her dreams come true. She started with a blog and ended up with a good running company. Laurentine even wrote a book about it, which is called ‘From blog to brand’. Not only does she has a shop with many loyal costumers, she also has a big fanbase on her instagram account and on youtube.
But what I wanna do is talk about her shop and clothes. I was very surprised when I walked in on her shop in Ghent (she has a second one). Although it wasn’t that big, it was very pleasant to walk around. The clothing store was mainly white, but the clothes gave it that colorful touch. There were many accessories to shop as well, like jewellery, shoes and her own book. At the end of the store, where the changing rooms are, you have this cosy nook with an adorble pink armchair and several frames on the wall, which is really instagram worthy. Besides that, the clothes just look really nice and are affordable to. There are some more expensives pieces, but in general the prices are not too bad. Also, I have to say, the girl that was working that day, was so friendly and so helpfull and she even allowed me to take pictures.
If you would ever visit Ghent, I would really recommand you to visit Clouds of Fashion (Brabantdam 15, 9000 Ghent).
Finally, there’s a bit more sun and it’s warmer. It’s still windy sometimes, but hey, it’s a start. I really like taking long walks in the nature, but when it’s hot, it’s not really comfortable to do this with a pair of jeans. Also, I’m not really fond of shorts, because it just doesn’t fit me. It’s a curvy girl kinda problem. I just need loose clothes, because everything’s so thight. That’s when I found this striped pants. It has been weeks, maybe months, that I’m searching for a striped pants, but it’s kinda hard. Many people are saying that girls who are curvy or a bit ‘bigger’, shouldn’t wear stripes.
That’s not my opinion. I think anyone can wear whatever the fuck they want. Still I think you just have to find the right size and model, because I do admit, I could still look a bit ugly or messy. That’s why I love this striped pants from New Look for € 29,99. It’s very loose and comfortable. I have big hips and my waist is smaller, so it’s ideal to wear the pans just above my hips. I paired this with my black tshirt from Pimkie for € 9,99, wich has roses on it. I don’t really have much tshirts in my closet, I usually wear more blouses or tops, but I just love this one and I think it kinda fits. With this, I’m wearing my black flats from the Primark for €10 and my new bag, also from Primark, which I don’t really remember but I think it was around €10 – €15, but it could be less.
I really love this outfit and I’m glad I finally found a striped pants that doesn’t make me look bigger. On the other hand, it doesn’t make me look smaller either, but I guess I have to embrace my female curves. The pants could be a bit longer, but I still like it. What do you think?
Spring is almost over and we’re heading towards summer, but some days, it doesn’t really feel like summer (thanks to the wheter in Belgium). Now and then, we can enjoy the sun, but most of the days are still filled with cold wind and grey clouds. Not really weather to go outside with shorts and tops. It’s like we’re in an inbetween phase where it’s already to hot to wear a winter coat, scarve and hat but also not warm enough for summer clothing.
That’s why I can still wear my favorite piece of clothing, which are sweaters. I think I have more sweaters than anything else. It’s just comfortable, easy and you have them in many sizes and colors. The sweater I bought in New Yorker for € 19,95. It has the quote stronger on it which I really like because I feel like it fits me. I kinda made up my own quote because, while I’m not really happy with my body and I don’t have a size zero, I’m trying to work on it everyday and it won’t stop me from becoming stronger.
Also I liked that it was in three colors and it’s just a little bit oversized. I combined the sweater with a pink bowtie in my hear and white sneakers from Stradivarius for € 25. Underneat my sweater, I wore a simple pink tshirt with white details, which I also got in the New Yorker for € 6,95
I’m not really a pink kinda girl, but I do love this outfit.
